Marks CEPiEL’s Official Commercial Project
The kickoff meeting for the 'FPSO GHG Energy Management System Development' project was recently held at the headquarters of a leading global shipbuilding and offshore engineering company.
This project aims to build a core real-time management and optimization system for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) units. The system is designed to proactively respond to the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) 2050 decarbonization mandates and drive sustainable ESG management.
CEPiEL’s Core Contribution
CEPiEL fuses advanced AI techniques with 1st-Principle physical modeling to develop and deploy two key intelligent core engines onto the target FPSO:
Deterioration Index (DI): Calculates real-time asset degradation for critical equipment and accurately predicts optimal maintenance timing.
Anomaly Detection: Detects operational anomalies early to prevent severe failures and costly unpredicted downtime.
Future Expansion Plans
Upon successful completion of this PoC (Proof of Concept) project, the client plans to standardize CEPiEL’s AI intelligence engine as a default architecture across all newly built FPSO units moving forward.
Strategic Significance
This project marks CEPiEL’s a significant commercial deployment, bridging academic IP accumulated at Inha University’s CEPI Lab directly to heavy maritime and offshore industries.
By joining this high-profile consortium alongside global software giants and specialized EPC/SI partners, CEPiEL proves the industrial viability and excellence of its proprietary technology.
